The output of each
modular boiler can reach up 48.50 kW (100% at 50-30
°C)
Efficiency of each exchanger can reach up 108.7%
calculated on the net calorific value of natural gas
(Hi); low flue gas temperatures allow the flue system to
be completely made of plastic (Polypropylene).
Corolla modular boilers represent a breakthrough in
terms of system management, installation, reliability
and flexibility. In fact, thanks to both the latest
generation electronic system and the modularity /
versatility of the system it is possible to respond
rapidly to the changing conditions within any heating
and hot water production system, simultaneously managing
three heating circuits operating at three different
temperatures. |

Modulating And Modular
System
Inside a central heating plant, the
boilers output is calculated according to the maximum
heat load, i.e. according to the heat demand on the
coolest days of winter. Consequently the boiler tends to
be over-sized throught much of the year. Such
over-sizing problems are more acute during summer months
when only a domestic hot water demand is present,
adversely influencing overall seasonal operating
efficiency. In fact, it would be better to run the
boiler only at the required output to match the heat
load at any given time, thus reducing energy
consumption. Corolla 500 family of boilers directly
adopt this operating philosophy combining flame
modulation with modular installation (Cascade system).
Each unit starts working in cascade sequence with
variable heat load. When the first unit reaches a
certain output (e.g. 30%) the next module is started in
cascade. A purpose designed electronic system manages
each single boiler module inside the plant. The
electronic system is integrated inside the module
optimising performance whilst reducing energy
consumption. Potential energy savings up to 30% can
be made compared with traditional heating systems (see graph
below). Such savings are made possible
by exploiting the energy derived from condensing latent heat from
the flue gases, flame modulation and
matching the number of boiler modules inoperation
to the heat load..

Further Saving On Installation
Costs
Corolla 500 series of
thermal plants can be divided into two categories : Wall
hung boilers named Corolla 501/502 and floor standing
heat generators named Corolla Pack 503/504. Both boiler
types provide installation time savings using simple
plastic (Polyprophylene) flue system components. Maximum
flue lengths up to 30 meters can be achieved with a
reduction of 3 meters for every 90° bend used. Flue
diameters are 50 mm for Corolla 501/502 and 160 mm for
Corolla 503/504. Connection to existing chimneys can be
easily made using this system. It is important to
remember taht Corolla Pack thermal groups (Over 35 kW)
must be installed only using open flues installed in
accordance with the laws in force (D.M. 12.04.1996). In
case such a site is not available, it is possible to
employ
Corolla Pack outdoor version having a stainless steel casing and
named Corolla Pack EXT which are completely
sealed and certified in accordance
with IPx4D thus suiting outdoor installation
requirements.

Corolla is extremely sensitive to environmental issues.
Such care is demonstrated by the very low pollutants
emission of each boiler module belonging to the Corolla
500 range. A boiler module is a combination of heat
exchanger and gas valve. The perfect mixing of gas and
air results in a cleani low temperature flame, which
matched with the unique combustion chamber design
provides an immediate exchange of heat. Such
conditions almost completely prevent the formation of
nitrogen oxides (NOx), whose value is half of the limit levels foreseen by
the most strict rules in force
on the matter (Class 5, EN 297,
EN 483). Such clean combustion and minimum CO level (not exceeding 100
ppm) is made possible thanks to
the controlled pre-mix burner and micro-flame
burner combination.
